Description
A 2003 kart racer by Vivendi and Vicarious Visions, the spiritual successor to Crash Team Racing set in an intergalactic frame. A reworked drift system, narrative adventure mode and a broader Crash cast make it a credible Mario Kart alternative on PS2.

This karting game takes Crash's gang into space. The art direction leaves the series' earthbound settings for intergalactic circuits: vividly colored alien planets, orbital stations, extraterrestrial jungles and tracks floating in the starry void. The marsupial's characters, gathered on the starting grid, streak down these cosmic tracks in a bright cartoon rendering, a colorful alternative to the era's karting heavyweights.
A kart racing game from Vicarious Visions, Crash Nitro Kart pits the bandicoot and his gang on colourful tracks packed with corners, jumps and throwable items, against a galactic competition backdrop. The snappy arcade driving, the drift to boost system and the split screen multiplayer make it a solid Mario Kart rival on Sony's console. The lack of originality against the model and an uneven difficulty temper the whole. A good racing game for fans of arcade karting and multiplayer mayhem on PS2.
