Darkwing Duck as an excellent action-platformer. Capcom delivers another exemplary licensed game. The cape and gadgets are well used. Fully on par with Chip 'n Dale.

The European PAL NES release of the Capcom Disney title, with a late distribution shorter than the US version. Often compared to 'Mega Man' for its stage-select structure, which made it a Capcom fan favourite. PAL CIB in the original cardboard box remains one of the most chased Capcom Disney titles on the European market, and the completion effect alongside 'DuckTales' sustains a steadily rising cote.

Is Darkwing Duck still worth playing in 2026?

Darkwing Duck is an excellent Capcom action platformer drawn from the Disney series. The protective cape, varied gadgets and open level design build an experience halfway between Mega Man and Chip 'n Dale, with a real identity of its own. Stages are picked in free order like a Mega Man, the soundtrack sticks and the controls are precise as you expect from Capcom at the time. For retro Disney platforming fans and Capcom 8-bit peak lovers, still a very recommendable classic to replay today.
