Is Donkey Kong Land still worth playing in 2026?
Donkey Kong Land is a technical feat that condenses the spirit of Donkey Kong Country onto the Game Boy, with prerendered graphics impressive for the console. It brings back Donkey and Diddy Kong, the rhino Rambi, the Kremlings and a demanding level design made of precise jumps and secrets to flush out. The difficulty is high and the readability sometimes tricky on a small screen, but the adventure stays generous and polished. An excellent portable platformer, worth recommending to fans of the series and of sturdy platforming challenges.
