Driver 2 expands the formula with new cities, the ability to exit the vehicle and a more developed scenario. More ambitious than its predecessor despite some technical slowdowns. An excellent cinematic driving game that consolidates the franchise universe on PS1.

Collector interest

An ambitious sequel adding the ability to step out of the car on foot, a technical feat noted for a PlayStation near the end of its run. A big seller, it stays widely available today, and its interest rests on this game-design advance rather than scarcity. A milestone valued by open-world driving fans, at a reasonable price.

A questionable morality

Officially planted undercover in the underworld on the side of the law, you spend most of your time driving for the mob: chases, muscular getaways, the appointed wheelman for every dirty job. The cover conveniently excuses each skid, so you shake off the police with the clear conscience of a good guy merely doing his job behind the wheel.

Is Driver 2 - Back on the Streets still worth playing in 2026?

Driver 2, also Driver 2 - Back on the Streets in Europe, expands the formula with new cities (Chicago, Las Vegas, Rio de Janeiro), the ability to leave the vehicle on foot and a more elaborate scenario. More ambitious than its predecessor despite some technical slowdowns, Reflections' title signs an excellent open-world chase game. A genuinely excellent detour today.
