Driving open world set in New York in 1978 then 2006. The retro 1970s atmosphere and period soundtrack are highlights. Freedom of movement and varied missions provide enjoyment despite technical production trailing GTA.

Description
Reflections Interactive and Atari rebooted Driver in 2006 with Parallel Lines, swapping the world tour for a single New York spread across two eras (1978 and 2006). The story follows getaway driver T.K. through a cinematic revenge plot, in a denser open world with on-foot gunplay finally worthy of the name.

Is Driver - Parallel Lines still worth playing in 2026?

An open world driving game from Reflections, Driver Parallel Lines plunges the player into a criminal New York across two eras, 1978 and 2006, where races, getaways and gangster missions string together behind the wheel of faithfully modelled cars. The snappy driving feel, the period soundtrack and the freedom of the city keep real character. The stiff on foot phases and a dated production weigh a little. A good action driving game for fans of criminal open worlds and old fashioned driving.
