A solid port of Duke Nukem 3D on N64. The PC levels are reworked, the arsenal lightly tweaked and the spicier humour censored in places. Without quite matching the PC version, it's still a rugged shooter and one of the most memorable on the console's early lineup.

Is Duke Nukem 64 still worth playing in 2026?

Duke Nukem 64 is the N64 port of the cult FPS Duke Nukem 3D, in which the laid-back hero cleans up a futuristic Los Angeles overrun by aliens with shotgun and cutting one-liners. The ingenious level design, varied weapons and deep interaction with environments built the original's reputation and still hold up well. The censorship of this version and a presentation at times behind the PC are worth noting. For fans of snappy retro FPS and ribald humor, it is a still-enjoyable classic.
