F.E.A.R. 3 is a co-op sequel that sacrifices horror for action. Point Man and Paxton Fettel playable, solid gameplay but far less terrifying atmosphere than predecessors. Honest but disappointing for fans.

Is F.E.A.R. 3 still worth playing in 2026?

The third entry in the horror FPS, F.E.A.R. 3 evolves Monolith's formula towards two player co-op, where brothers Point Man and Paxton Fettel, one with slow motion gunplay, the other with psychic powers, face Alma's manifestations together. The complementarity of the two characters, the snappy pace and the horror atmosphere appeal in duo. The loss of some of the first entry's solo tension and a more conventional production weigh a little. A good shooter for fans of co-op FPS and multiplayer action horror.
