The Mojave reads through signage: the Strip keeps its neon lit in the middle of the desert, the casinos display intact facades as if nothing had fallen, while outside stretch Freeside's tin shacks. Obsidian thus sets commercial light against dust, and each faction announces itself by its uniform, regulation khaki, Legion breastplates, the boss's three-piece suit.
Radio New Vegas trades the postwar crooner for the American desert: western swing, country and rockabilly, pedal-steel guitars and saloon brass making you hear Nevada rather than the bomb. Mr New Vegas, a host of suspiciously smooth politeness, comments on your deeds with measured enthusiasm, and that voice becomes the only reliable companion on the long walks.
Left for dead after a fatal delivery, a courier crosses a post-nuclear desert where several factions vie for the future. Renowned for the freedom of its choices, the tale confronts the player with genuine political reflection, with no clear-cut heroes or villains. This mature, branching writing made it a peak of the Western RPG.
