Battle backdrops gain gradients that replace the original flat fills.
From the pen of Nobuo Uematsu, the score unfurls themes of rare emotion, from the poignant "Theme of Love" to the epic battles. Each character has their leitmotif, weaving a musical narrative of striking maturity for its time. This melodic richness, a pioneer of the JRPG, remains deeply moving.
Betrayals, sacrifices and a quest for forgiveness mark the odyssey of a dark knight gnawed by guilt. Dramatic ahead of its time, its tale gives every companion real depth and sometimes heartrending farewells. The series' first great melodrama, it keeps an emotional power intact decades later.
