Grid 2 is the sequel focusing on pure racing without cockpit view with accentuated speed sensations. More accessible than the first, world competition, enriched multiplayer. Different but pleasant for racing fans.

Story
"Anecdotal"
Almost photographic reproduction of the cars, realistic circuits and natural light: Codemasters' racing reaches a cutting-edge realism. The care for mechanical detail and the brilliance of the environments impress at every corner. This visual rigour, elegant and polished, illustrates the studio's exigency in simulation.

Collector interest

A sequel to Grid, leaning more toward arcade accessibility, met with a mixed reception from fans of the more simulation-minded original. Printed widely, it stays unremarkable and lightly priced, with no scarcity of its own. Its collector interest is limited: a middle entry of a decent racing series, lacking the first's prestige and the next's finesse, little sought beyond completism.

Better with friends

A race with realistic yet snappy positioning, where wheel-to-wheel fighting and damage management add depth to circuit duels. The competition rewards controlled aggression and calculated risk-taking, in a tight rivalry where every overtake counts. Local split-screen delivers intense face-offs, while the original online depends on servers whose activity is no longer guaranteed.

Is Grid 2 still worth playing in 2026?

Grid 2 takes a more arcade approach than its elder, betting on pure racing, heightened speed sensations and a spectacular global competition. Removing the cockpit view disappointed purists, but the driving stays gripping and the careful damage system preserves the intensity. More accessible and brisk, it favours immediate pleasure over simulation rigour. The enriched multiplayer extended the experience at launch. Different from the original without surpassing it, the title remains enjoyable for anyone after flashy and exhilarating racing, provided you accept its more mainstream turn.
