The soundtrack reads like a musical anthology of the story's generations. Each part of the saga, from the Victorian gentleman to the contemporary era, gets a sonic color proper to its period, so that the fighters carry with them the register of their time. To move from an old character to a modern heir is to cross decades of style. The music becomes a machine for traveling the ages of the lineage.
