Neo Geo kaiju versus on SNES. Giant monster fights, decent animations, stiff gameplay.

Is King of the Monsters still worth playing in 2026?

An adaptation of the SNK game where giant kaiju wrestle destructively across ravaged cities. The concept of monsters in the vein of Japanese films and the joy of flattening buildings carry real character, but the SNES port suffers from slowdown and thin content next to the arcade. It is played mainly for two-player fun and the genre's gleeful kitsch. An endearing curio, more convincing in multiplayer than solo over time.
