This reboot makes Lara a globe-trotter across sharply contrasted destinations. Gone the mere chain of tombs: the heroine leaps from a neon-ringed Tokyo office tower to jungle-drowned Bolivian ruins, from an English manor to a snowbound Kazakh site. The art direction multiplies modern settings and big spectacular scenes, motorcycle chases included, trading solitary exploration for a very cinematic action world tour.
The soundtrack stands out for its reactive writing. Rather than unrolling fixed pieces, the score recomposes itself live according to the action: it lightens for a delicate jump, tenses at once when an enemy appears, swells in mid-firefight then falls back once calm returns.
Is Lara Croft Tomb Raider - Legend still worth playing in 2026?
A rebirth of the saga from Crystal Dynamics, Tomb Raider Legend relaunches Lara Croft with smoother gameplay, chained acrobatics and cinematic staging that modernises the ruin exploration formula. The snappy pace, the physical puzzles and the grapple use breathe new life into the series. The increased linearity and a slightly short length temper the adventure. An excellent action adventure reboot to recommend for fans of Lara Croft and scripted acrobatic exploration.
