EA WWII FPS in the Pacific theatre. Pearl Harbor, Burma, Guadalcanal. Fascinating concept but mediocre execution, limited AI, incoherent story. Considered the series' weak link. Skip unless curious.

Is Medal of Honor - Rising Sun still worth playing in 2026?

Rising Sun moves the series to the Pacific with staging that felt ambitious in 2003, yet it stands as the weakest GameCube entry. Progression is too scripted, enemy AI is shallow, and the abrupt cliffhanger ending feels unfinished. Today the WWII shooting fundamentals pale against modern FPS design, and even against Frontline. Genre nostalgics will appreciate the rousing orchestral score and the pleasant two-player local co-op, but curious newcomers will find little reason to linger here.
