Deadly Alliance sequel with very generous modes: Konquest, Chess Kombat and Puzzle Kombat. The content volume is remarkable. Enriched story mode and diversity of game modes make Deception one of the most complete MK entries. An excellent package for franchise fans.

Description
A Midway sequel released in 2004 (US, Germany, Europe, Australia), the fifth main entry. A new Konquest RPG mode, the multi-style combat system carried over from the previous game and arenas with environmental hazards (Death Traps). More ambitious than Deadly Alliance, widely considered the peak of the 3D era of the series.

Is Mortal Kombat - Deception still worth playing in 2026?

A versus fighter from Midway, Mortal Kombat - Deception enriches the series' three dimensional formula with interactive settings, pickable weapons, environmental deaths and a host of side modes, including a surprising chess minigame and an adventure mode. The overflowing generosity of the content, the multiple style system and the emblematic violence appeal to versus fans and fans of the licence. The stiffness of some clashes and a dated production bound the ambition. For a fan of fighting games or of Mortal Kombat, the title keeps a preserved generosity and intensity, in a dated edition.
