Improved Ninja Gaiden 3 version, correcting many flaws of the original. Ryu is more fun to play, extra characters add variety. Still demanding and violent. An honest rehabilitation of a disappointing entry.

Memorable bosses

Driven by relentless aggression, this entry hurls Ryu Hayabusa against outsized foes — mechanical dinosaurs or armored colossi — in duels where dodging and countering come first. Bloody grapples and katana finishers sustain a raw tension. More direct and spectacular than crafty, it favors nervy catharsis over tactical finesse, never letting up the pace.

Is Ninja Gaiden 3 - Razor's Edge still worth playing in 2026?

A snappy action game from Team Ninja, Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge corrects and enriches the original entry with the return of dismemberment, multiple weapons and a high challenge faithful to the series' merciless reputation. The ninja Ryu Hayabusa chains fluid combos and pixel precise dodges in demanding clashes. The wayward camera and a weak story remain its weak points. A good action game for fans of technical character action and old fashioned challenge, provided you love difficulty.
