Dawn of Dreams turns Onimusha into a sprawling action RPG with five heroes and a gorgeous mythical Japan. Bigger and a touch looser than the originals, yet relentlessly spectacular.

Is Onimusha - Dawn of Dreams still worth playing in 2026?

The fourth entry in Capcom's action saga, Onimusha Dawn of Dreams widens the formula with a more open fantastical feudal Japan, dynamic sword combat and a secondary character system of complementary abilities. The spectacular staging, the weapon variety and the snappy pace modernise the series. The sometimes temperamental camera and a certain redundancy of fights temper the adventure. A good action game to recommend for fans of sword combat and spectacular Japanese dark fantasy.
