Sunny yellow as a guiding thread, a stylish interface and warm character design by Soejima: the game radiates an optimistic graphic energy. The chromatic coherence and pop elegance turn the slightest scene into a poster. This art direction, luminous and iconic, brilliantly extends the series' style.
From the pen of Shoji Meguro, the music combines sparkling pop-funk and stylish vocal rock, faithful to the identity of Persona 4. Each fighter recovers their supercharged anthem, fuelling the energy of the clashes. This sonic generosity, cool and rousing, wonderfully transposes the series' groove into versus fighting.

Beyond the high-tempo bouts, this Ultimax revision grafts on an extended story mode and the Golden Arena, a true RPG layer where you level characters up fight after fight. Mastering the expanded roster, unlocking Shadow variants and tackling the online netcode feeds long-running sessions. A versus title whose content generosity stays praised.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (PS3) price, value & rarity
Is Persona 4 Arena Ultimax still worth playing in 2026?
A 2D fighting game from Arc System Works and Atlus, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax extends the crossover between Persona 3 and 4 in snappy, readable bouts where each character summons their Persona mid fight. The fidelity to the saga's heroes, the richness of the system and the careful writing of the story mode appeal to fans of 2D versus and Atlus RPGs. The technicality calls for real investment. An excellent fighting game to recommend for fans of Persona and Arc System Works.
