PES 2008 feels like the series in awkward transition to HD. The ball still behaves wonderfully under the foot, but FIFA is starting to bite hard. Decent, not great.

PES 2008 - Pro Evolution Soccer (PS2) price, value & rarity
Is PES 2008 - Pro Evolution Soccer still worth playing in 2026?
An entry in Konami's football simulation, PES 2008 carries on the rivalry with FIFA by leaning on the finesse of the gameplay, the realism of the animations and the tactical pleasure of team play, the series' trademark. The ball feel and the freedom of actions appeal to purists on PS2. The absence of many official licences and a less flattering production than the competition are felt. A technical football to recommend for fans of demanding simulation and multiplayer matches.
