Philosoma is a vertical shmup by Sony Computer Entertainment with original direction-change mechanics. Demanding genre-typical gameplay with good enemy variety. A decent niche shmup for genre fans on PS1, though less impressive than the major references.

Description
Japanese shoot them up by G-Artists, where the pilot faces an alien threat in phases alternating 2D, behind-the-back 3D and free 3D. Created by G-Artists and Sony Computer Entertainment, released in 1995 in Japan, 1996 in the United States and Europe under the Philosoma title. Six levels with variable perspectives including 2D, behind-the-back 3D and free 3D, customizable ship, extended boss mode and orchestral soundtrack. Multi-regional edition under the Philosoma title.
