Under its alternate title, this same chapter stands out for its vertical playgrounds. The art direction stages magnetic surfaces, upended arenas and jumps from one wall face to another, forever playing with up and down. This gravitational gymnastics gives the settings a playful geometry the series had scarcely explored.
Under its other name, this close of the Future saga thinks itself as a farewell song. The score slips in callbacks to themes heard in earlier chapters, like a bow addressed to the faithful. Between arena fanfares found again and fond reprises, the music shuts the Future parenthesis on a note of avowed nostalgia.

An action platformer from Insomniac, Ratchet & Clank Into the Nexus, released in Europe as Nexus, closes the duo's Future saga in a shorter but dense adventure, blending snappy shooting, platforming and wild gadgets. The creative arsenal, the humour and a few two dimensional gravity sequences keep all the series' charm. The reduced length and the lack of ambition compared to the big entries temper the whole. An excellent game for fans of colourful platform shooting, humour and the Ratchet & Clank saga on PS3.
