Rayman Origins on 3DS, portable version of Michel Ancel's 2D platformer. Creative levels and enchanting music in a version well adapted to 3DS. Less spectacular than the console version but the substance is there.

A cult cover

An explosion of color and good cheer: Rayman and his gang leap through a teeming setting of round shapes and the expressive line of the UbiArt engine. The vitality of the composition and the wealth of detail breathe immediate fun. Joyful and warm, it instantly makes you want to jump into the fray.

Is Rayman Origins still worth playing in 2026?

A 2D rebirth of Rayman, Origins dazzles with a hand painted art direction of rare fluidity and vivacity, driven by the UbiArt engine. The platforming, precise and playful, ramps up in challenge without ever losing its sense of celebration, and the 3DS version keeps the essence of that magic despite a lower resolution. The local co op mode adds to the fun. For a fan of demanding platforming or someone curious about one of the genre's most beautiful games of its generation, the title keeps a fully intact brilliance and generosity.
