Resident Evil Revelations on WiiU, the best port of this originally 3DS game. GamePad offers quick inventory management. Successfully claustrophobic atmosphere on the ship. A good way to discover an often overlooked but solid RE.

The abandoned ship provides a unity of place the series had lost: narrow gangways, faded luxury lounges, a flooded engine room, all joined by a coherent architecture you end up knowing. Damp is treated as a material in its own right, mist on the portholes, reflecting puddles, mould on the gilding, which dates the abandonment without a word.
The score works by absence: long stretches without music, where only the creaking of the hull and the lapping matter, then a sudden entry of dissonant strings at the precise moment a creature reveals itself. The searching phases receive a very low drone, barely audible, whose presence you notice only at the instant it stops.
The story is cut into episodes with an opening recap and a closing cliffhanger, a structure borrowed from television that divides the investigation into alternating points of view. That editing lets several teams separated in time and space coexist, and the revelation rests less on the nature of the threat than on identifying who lied to whom.
Resident Evil Revelations, here in its enriched Unveiled edition, the console port of an entry first designed for handheld, reconnecting with a more muted horror known in Japan as Biohazard. Its desirability rests on this expanded version on a sought library rather than a general scarcity, the Japanese run under its original title adding a regional appeal on a locked console. An interesting piece for a horror set.
Is Resident Evil - Revelations still worth playing in 2026?
A Wii U adaptation by Capcom, Resident Evil Revelations Unveiled Edition offers a survival horror adventure where Jill Valentine investigates the Queen Zenobia liner with third person combat system and oppressive atmosphere. The polished dark art direction, tactical combat system and thriller scenario make it an absolute survival horror reference on Wii U. For anyone fond of Resident Evil or seeking a quality portable survival horror, a warm recommendation still valid today without any hesitation truly here indeed.
