Rocksmith 2014 genuinely teaches guitar via a real six-string plugged into the 360. The pedagogical progression is superb, the setlist covers major styles, and this is probably the most useful rhythm game of the generation for anyone serious about learning the rock instrument.

A revamp from Ubisoft, Rocksmith All-New 2014 Edition reuses the real guitar learning concept while ironing out the first game's flaws: clearer interface, reduced latency, improvised session tools and a wider tracklist. The smoother teaching, the Session jam mode with a virtual band and the better guided progression make it the best entry point to the instrument while playing. The real learning curve still demands investment. An excellent edutainment software for motivated budding guitarists.
