Serious Sam Next Encounter continues Croteam's madness on PS2. Monstrous hordes, head-on action and gleefully dumb humour. Not the series peak, but a fine venting session.
A Croteam and Climax FPS released in 2004, the PS2 version of Serious Sam Next Encounter. A chronological spin-off of the franchise (between the two main entries), where Sam Stone faces Mental's hordes in Pompeii, ancient China and Aztec Mesoamerica. Overdriven arcade action with hundreds of simultaneous enemies, no downtime. A cult arcade FPS niche.

An FPS that bets only on quantity and release: hordes of enemies pour in from all sides, and you blast away relentlessly in gleeful chaos. No subtlety, just the pure adrenaline of standing up to entire armies. The frantic pace and the generous arsenal deliver an immediate pleasure, multiplied in co-op. Brutal, snappy and furiously fun.
