Fourth Skylanders with the concept of capturing enemies in traps. Interesting idea but slow pacing and the franchise is clearly showing its limits.

This instalment makes the defeated opponents the main drawing ground: each captured villain becomes playable and therefore receives full treatment, idle animations included, where until then it was only a hostile silhouette. The moment of capture is staged as a luminous suction towards a translucent crystal, an effect repeated dozens of times without ever being shortened.

Is Skylanders - Trap Team still worth playing in 2026?
An Activision toys to life platform, Skylanders Trap Team extends the founding series of connected toys, where placing a figure on the portal brings its character into the adventure. Its idea is capturing villains in crystals to play them in turn. The blend of action, exploration and collecting stays pleasant for the family, backed by convivial local co-op. The reliance on paid figures and the end of the range weigh on the model. A good game for families, young players and collectors of connected toys on Wii U.
