Sonic Advance 2 on GBA, even faster than the first. Longer and more spectacular levels, characters with distinct styles. Many consider it the best of the trilogy.

European PAL edition of Sonic Advance 2, distributed by Sega Europe in April 2003, the first portable entry to introduce Cream the Rabbit into the Sonic canon and the first to make linear high speed momentum a structural signature. European cardboard box is fragile, and Cream's pivot role in the modern Sonic roster reading turns a PAL identified clean complete copy into a documentary piece for Sonic Advance completists and Dimps design enthusiasts.

Is Sonic Advance 2 still worth playing in 2026?

Sonic Advance 2 pushes the speed dial further than the first, sometimes at the cost of moment to moment platforming readability. The stages are long, spectacular and heavily race oriented, with each character offering a distinct style. The real challenge lies in collecting the Special Rings hidden throughout the stages, which calls for genuine mastery. More demanding and more polarizing than Sonic Advance, yet also more technically impressive. Recommended to fans of fast 2D Sonic willing to learn the layouts.
