Spider-Man on PS2 adapts the first Raimi film. Pleasant action, New York mood and faithful web-slinger quips. Honest if unspectacular, fun for hero fans.

Story
"Solid"
This adaptation of Sam Raimi's film tends above all to its faithfulness to the movie. The story's big scenes are replayed, the Green Goblin's appearance on his glider, rooftop duels, Peter Parker's coming into his powers, in an emphatically cinematic staging. Cutscenes and framings trace the look of the 2002 film, making the game a playable extension of the work more than a rereading.

Is Spider-Man still worth playing in 2026?

A Treyarch and Activision adaptation of Sam Raimi's film, Spider-Man casts the young Peter Parker learning to master his powers and facing the Green Goblin in a 3D New York. The fluidity of web swinging, the aerial combat and the film faithfulness deliver a real superhero sensation for the time. The enclosed urban environments and a dated camera have aged against the open world sequels. An action game to recommend for fans of Spider-Man and of 2000s superhero film tie-ins.
