Beyond the classic stacking, guiding a professor downward past threatening spikes adds a layer of thought that refreshes the tension from one board to the next. Every fatal fall instantly makes you crave a cleaner attempt. The puzzle mode wears thin a little, but the timeless self-evidence of Tetris and its clever dressing keep a hold that nothing seems to dull.

Is Tetris Plus still worth playing in 2026?

A variant of the legendary puzzle from Jaleco, Tetris Plus rounds out the classic tetromino stacking mode with an original puzzle mode where you must guide a professor to the exit by lowering the ceiling of blocks without crushing him. The additional concept, the readability and the timeless addiction of base Tetris still work in short sessions. The modest production matters little against the efficiency of the gameplay. A good thinking game for fans of Tetris and accessible puzzles to pick up any time.
