Tony Hawk's Project 8 on PS2 clearly simplifies the PS3 version. Dated visuals, reduced content and still-solid gameplay. Honest for those without next-gen hardware.

Description
A Neversoft and Activision sports game released in 2006, the late Project 8 Tony Hawk's franchise entry. The player skates in an open-world city (Suburbia) to reach the top 8 real skaters (Project 8). Nail the Trick slow-motion system for precision tricks, refined mechanics but exhausted formula. PS2 adaptation downgraded from PS3/Xbox 360. Mixed reception, sign of franchise fatigue.

Is Tony Hawk's Project 8 still worth playing in 2026?

An entry in Neversoft's skating series, Tony Hawk's Project 8 refines scoring with a new slow motion trick system, Nail the Trick, that lets you fine tune combos in suspended time, in an open world structured around a ranking to climb. The precision of the tricks, the freedom of the city and the rock soundtrack appeal to fans of riding. The PS2 version clearly below the new generation builds has aged. A good skating game for fans of arcade extreme sport and demanding scoring.
