Spiritual sequel to N64's 1080, snappy snowboard races that still look gorgeous for their time. Fantastic feel of speed, long open runs and a very early-2000s soundtrack. Could use more modes but the core ride is delicious.

Is 1080 Silver Storm still worth playing in 2026?

A sequel to the N64's famous 1080 Snowboarding, Avalanche from Nintendo banks on snappy runs, spectacular avalanches and a demanding yet rewarding carving physics. The sense of speed and the rendering of snow stayed impressive for the time, carried by a rock soundtrack. The content is a touch thin and the handling takes some adjustment. For fans of arcade snowboarding and the 1080 lineage, it remains an exhilarating descent, sharper than the console's average boarding games.
