The Advanced Dungeons & Dragons series on NES adapts the cult TSR RPG into several sub series (DragonStrike, Dragons of Flame, Heroes of the Lance, Hillsfar, Pool of Radiance) with dungeon exploration and turn based combat. The version keeps TSR tactical depth despite 8 bit constraints. Solid for 8 bit western RPG fans, tactical genre classic.

Collector interest

Dragons of Flame stayed locked to the Japanese Famicom, never localized or sold in the West, making it the most overlooked entry in FCI's Dragonlance side-scrolling trilogy. Its scarcity comes from a small print run for a licensed AD&D action-RPG, a niche genre in 1990 Japan. Complete copies with Japanese box and manual rarely surface outside the country, which explains why boxed examples command far more than loose carts.
