The Advanced Dungeons & Dragons series on NES adapts the cult TSR RPG into several sub series (DragonStrike, Dragons of Flame, Heroes of the Lance, Hillsfar, Pool of Radiance) with dungeon exploration and turn based combat. The version keeps TSR tactical depth despite 8 bit constraints. Solid for 8 bit western RPG fans, tactical genre classic.

Collector interest

This Famicom Hillsfar shipped very late, early 1993, when Japanese buyers had already moved to the Super Famicom, keeping the run small. The game blends exploration of the city of Hillsfar with dexterity mini-games, FCI's port of the SSI original. Its scarcity is genuine, yet its Japanese value stays moderate because local demand for Western AD&D conversions was thin, unlike the markedly stronger pull this license held with American collectors.
