The Advanced Dungeons & Dragons series on NES adapts the cult TSR RPG into several sub series (DragonStrike, Dragons of Flame, Heroes of the Lance, Hillsfar, Pool of Radiance) with dungeon exploration and turn based combat. The version keeps TSR tactical depth despite 8 bit constraints. Solid for 8 bit western RPG fans, tactical genre classic.

The Famicom conversion of Pool of Radiance, first of the Forgotten Realms Gold Box line, arrived early in 1992 and stayed exclusive to Japan. Its collecting appeal rests more on the prestige of the SSI franchise than on scarcity, with loose carts fairly common and cheap. The contrast is sharp between a very affordable bare cartridge and a sealed copy valued near 290 euros, showing value concentrates on sealed or pristine boxed examples.
