The Advanced Dungeons & Dragons series on NES adapts the cult TSR RPG into several sub series (DragonStrike, Dragons of Flame, Heroes of the Lance, Hillsfar, Pool of Radiance) with dungeon exploration and turn based combat. The version keeps TSR tactical depth despite 8 bit constraints. Solid for 8 bit western RPG fans, tactical genre classic.

Collector interest

The North American NES Pool of Radiance enjoys real demand, driven by players who knew the Gold Box franchise on home computers before it reached consoles. Published by FCI, its US distribution was limited, putting complete copies well above the Famicom version, around 150 euros, with sealed near 600 euros. It is the most collected AD&D title on the NES in the West, sought as a pioneering tactical RPG on the platform.
