Adventure Island Part II, The (NES) price, value & rarity
A relatively short PAL European print, harder to find complete than the US version. NES PAL cardboard boxes rarely age well, and copies with an intact outer sleeve, clean inlay and multilingual manual climb quickly. This edition mostly interests PAL completionists chasing the Hudson sub-series, more than casual fans of the Master Higgins line.
Is Adventure Island Part II, The still worth playing in 2026?
Adventure Island II is the direct sequel that introduces dinosaurs as mounts and brings real variety to Hudson's platformer. Refined mechanics, more colourful visuals, better paced levels and an expanded bestiary make for a clear step above the first entry. The difficulty stays demanding, especially in pixel-perfect jumps, but the generous power-ups and meatier length compensate. For 8-bit platformer fans and Hudson at full stride, still a strongly recommended classic to chain after the first.
