An arcade-flavoured 3D arena dogfighter from Paradigm. The five jets each have their own temperament and the action stays nimble and readable, yet the campaign is brief and the two-player mode struggles with slowdown. Enjoyable without leaving a deep mark.

Is Sonic Wings Assault still worth playing in 2026?

AeroFighters Assault swaps the series' 2D shoot'em up for a 3D arena aerial combat game, in which you pilot fighters against a terrorist organization. The sense of flight and the aerial combat bring some good moments, and the variety of aircraft adds a little relief. The sometimes confusing camera, limited content and modest presentation temper the enthusiasm. For fans of retro arcade aerial combat and the Aero Fighters series, it is an honest 3D transition but below the genre's benchmarks.
