Adaptation of a Japanese horror manga as an action-platformer. The occult atmosphere is well rendered, mechanics are solid. Only accessible to Japanese readers, but worthy of interest for the curious.

Is Akuma-kun - Makai no Wana still worth playing in 2026?

An action adventure from Bandai drawn from the Akuma-kun manga, this title follows a young exorcist who fights demons in an urban world full of folklore creatures, alternating exploration, platforming and power summoning. The mood from Shigeru Mizuki's work and the monster gallery give a singular character, even if the handling and difficulty stay Famicom typical. Japan only, the title demands the language. For a retro action adventure fan, someone curious about manga adaptations or a collector, the title keeps an original atmosphere and a particular charm.
