Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 concludes the reboot with fluid combat gameplay but a disappointing open world. Well-characterised Dracula, interesting narrative. Mixed but satisfying for reboot fans.

Is Akumajou Dracula - Lords of Shadow 2 still worth playing in 2026?

The Japanese version of Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2, this MercurySteam title concludes the trilogy by casting Dracula himself, split between a gothic castle and a modern city, in action blending whip combat, exploration and stealth sections. The polished art direction, the epic staging and the snappy combat system win over action fans. The disliked stealth sections and an uneven pace divide. A title for Castlevania fans and lovers of 3D action with a gothic atmosphere.
