Alien 3 adapts David Fincher's film into platform shoot on NES with Ripley fighting xenomorphs in a space prison. The dark art direction appeals but gameplay stays limited compared to 16 bit console versions. Pleasant for film fans, in line with 8 bit horror cinema tie in average.

Alien 3 reached the NES in 1993 under the LJN label, a publisher famous for movie tie-ins that were widely panned yet became curiosities. Its late PAL release, in a window when Europe was abandoning the console, makes the cartridge scarcer than LJN's earlier flagship titles. Interest stems from the horror film license and the paradoxical lore surrounding LJN's catalog, rather than the game's own merits.
