A mid-cycle All-Star Baseball that hums along nicely. The season mode is solid, the home-run derby is a real laugh and the play-by-play feels more polished, yet the AI lacks subtlety and the package plays it safe overall. A decent year for the faithful.

Is All-Star Baseball 2000 still worth playing in 2026?

All-Star Baseball 2000 is an officially licensed MLB baseball simulation by Acclaim, betting on the realism of teams, players and statistics for the 1999-2000 season. The solid playability, the depth of the modes and the faithfulness to the franchises make it a good representative of the genre on the machine. The presentation and pace show the title's age, and the interest wanes outside the period's sporting context. For fans of retro baseball and N64 sports simulation, it is a competent entry, mainly notable for those nostalgic for the MLB of that era.
