Arc the Lad III concludes the trilogy with a more accessible action-RPG style and generous world map. Less dark than II but offers varied content and well-developed characters. An excellent PS1 JRPG for those wanting to complete the saga.

Is Arc the Lad III still worth playing in 2026?

The third entry in Sony and G-Craft's tactical saga, Arc the Lad III offers grid based turn combat carried by colourful sprites and a system of classes and monsters to capture. The broad narrative, the side quests and the freedom of exploration enrich an accessible formula. The classic pace and the modest production against the genre's heavyweights call for some indulgence. An endearing tactical RPG for genre fans and lovers of the trilogy gathered in the West by Working Designs.
