This compilation gathers three apprentice alchemists of the kingdom of Arland, under Mel Kishida's tender pencil. The art direction cultivates a picture-book charm: pastel hues, round expressive characters, cosy workshops cluttered with stills and vials. Rorona, Totori and Meruru move through a warm fairy-tale world, where even magic feels like domestic craft.
The music bathes the workshop's daily life in a pastoral gentleness. Clear melodies, folk timbres, light waltzes accompany the gathering of ingredients and the long synthesis sessions, making the alchemist's work a peaceful routine. The score favours warmth over spectacle, a kindly backdrop cut for days spent mixing and starting over.
The story is built around pressing time: each heroine must meet deadlines, a licence to renew, orders to fulfil, on pain of failure. This constraint turns alchemy into a schooling for life, and the three linked games follow three young girls who grow up from one entry to the next. More than a quest, the trilogy tells of coming of age, test tube in hand.
