A more generous Bonk sequel. New prehistoric zones, expanded food-based power-up system, two-player co-op via Game Link cable. Denser than the first, snappier pace. A small underrated masterpiece for cartoon Game Boy platformer fans.

A portable Bonk sequel retitled B.C. Kid 2 in Europe, denser than the first and Game Link cable-compatible for co-op. The PAL market got an even tighter run, and the complete price clearly tops the original's, lifted by a reputation as an underrated yet respected Game Boy platformer. The European SGB Enhanced edition is among the hardest to find sealed in the Hudson series.

Is B.C. Kid 2 still worth playing in 2026?

B.C. Kid 2 extends Bonk's prehistoric adventures in its European version, with new worlds, an expanded food power system and a two player co op mode. The formula stays the same, made of headbutts, colorful platforming and offbeat humor, but gains variety and generosity over the first entry. The handling, however, keeps a certain period stiffness. A pleasant and richer sequel, it will delight fans of the mascot and those who enjoyed the first, without shaking up the recipe.
