A more generous Bonk sequel. New prehistoric zones, expanded food-based power-up system, two-player co-op via Game Link cable. Denser than the first, snappier pace. A small underrated masterpiece for cartoon Game Boy platformer fans.

Collector interest

Rarer and pricier than the first portable Bonk, this sequel benefits from a limited late-cycle Hudson Game Boy run and a reputation as the best of the monochrome line. Its link-cable two-player mode, unusual for an NEC-licensed platformer, adds a concrete draw. The clearly higher value over the first entry reflects scarcer supply rather than a mere series effect.

Is Bonk's Revenge still worth playing in 2026?

B.C. Kid 2 extends Bonk's prehistoric adventures in its European version, with new worlds, an expanded food power system and a two player co op mode. The formula stays the same, made of headbutts, colorful platforming and offbeat humor, but gains variety and generosity over the first entry. The handling, however, keeps a certain period stiffness. A pleasant and richer sequel, it will delight fans of the mascot and those who enjoyed the first, without shaking up the recipe.
