A more generous Bonk sequel. New prehistoric zones, expanded food-based power-up system, two-player co-op via Game Link cable. Denser than the first, snappier pace. A small underrated masterpiece for cartoon Game Boy platformer fans.

GB Genjin 2, the Japanese version of Bonk's Revenge, is the most polished handheld entry in Hudson's line: new food powers, link-cable co-op, tighter pacing. Its reputation as the best pocket Genjin/Bonk makes it the most sought piece of the Japanese branch, reflected in a CIB value clearly above the first game. The shorter 1991 print run sharpens the scarcity. An obvious buy for anyone taking just one Genjin.

Is GB Genjin 2 still worth playing in 2026?

B.C. Kid 2 extends Bonk's prehistoric adventures in its European version, with new worlds, an expanded food power system and a two player co op mode. The formula stays the same, made of headbutts, colorful platforming and offbeat humor, but gains variety and generosity over the first entry. The handling, however, keeps a certain period stiffness. A pleasant and richer sequel, it will delight fans of the mascot and those who enjoyed the first, without shaking up the recipe.
