Barbie adapts the Mattel toy franchise to NES with its heroine in glamorous adventures. The bright pink art direction targets young female audience but gameplay stays repetitive. Pleasant for young Barbie fans, in line with 8 bit youth license tie in average.

Collector interest

The PAL edition of this Mattel-licensed platformer is markedly rarer than its US counterpart, as the price gap shows. Distributed late in Europe by Hi Tech Expressions in a smaller run, it saw limited shelf presence, and complete European-boxed copies are now hard to assemble. The CIB premium rests chiefly on that regional scarcity, the game itself remaining a childlike tie-in product with little play appeal.
