Batman Returns adapts the Tim Burton film to NES with its dark knight facing the Penguin and Catwoman. The film faithful dark art direction appeals but gameplay stays basic. Pleasant for Batman fans, in line with 8 bit superhero cinema tie in average.

Collector interest

A very late 1993 PAL release, arriving when European buyers had already shifted toward the Super Nintendo, which kept the print run small. Konami's NES version is a wholly different platformer from the Mega Drive and Super NES games of the same name, an in-house build seldom found complete. The European cardboard box and multilingual manual carry real weight here given how thin late PAL Konami stock was.
