Battle Network 2 improves on everything the first laid down. Battles are richer, chips more varied. An excellent entry in the saga, clearly above the first.

Is Battle Network - Rockman EXE 2 still worth playing in 2026?

The second Battle Network episode, Rockman.EXE 2 deeply refines the founding formula with an evolving Style system, more readable combat and a wider adventure. The real time grid tactics, built around Battle Chips, gain in richness and balance, fixing the first game's rough edges. The writing and the pacing hold up better over the distance. Often cited among the saga's best, the title remains an ideal entry point. For a fan of action RPGs or of Mega Man, it keeps a real density.
