An adaptation of Kentaro Miura's manga, the game embraces its dark, bloody medieval imagery. Dented armour, battlefields strewn with corpses, monstrous demons and gothic architecture bathe in an earthy, twilit palette. The art direction owns the brutality of the original line, mutilated bodies and great blades in the foreground of a hard, hopeless world.
The story follows Guts, a mercenary marked by a curse that draws demons to him. Faithful to Miura's saga, it retraces the rise and fall of the Band of the Hawk, Griffith's betrayal and the sacrifice that condemns the hero to an endless hunt. A dark epic of vengeance and rage, the tale weaves broken friendship, monstrous ambition and a desperate struggle against a fate crushed in advance.
